Stripe + 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organizations
U.S. nonprofit organizations that are registered with the IRS may be eligible for discounted Stripe processing fees.
Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 in processing fees for each ticket sold. However, if your organization has a nonprofit status and if more than 80% of the incoming funds on Stripe will be tax deductible donations, you're encouraged to apply for discounted stripe processing fees.
Stripes standard non-profit discount is 2.2% + $0.30 transaction fee per transaction, with the exception of American Express payments which are charged at 3.5%.
Stripe charges an additional 1% for non-U.S. credit cards and another additional 1% if a currency conversion is required.

APPLYING
You may apply for discounted processing fees by emailing nonprofit@stripe.com with the following information:
- The primary e-mail address associated with your Stripe account
- Confirmation that more than 80% of your payment volume will be tax deductible donations. Non-eligible donations include (but are not limited to): membership fees, tuition payments, ticket sales, registration fees, and auction payments.
- Your organization's EIN, or a letter from the IRS confirming your 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
Please note that if approved for discounted fees, Stripe doesn't not retroactively apply the discount therefore any sales made before you are approved will be subject to the standard processing fees.
